LOL @ Cyborger

Funny what what happens when one takes the time to read a legally binding finacial statement. PS3 is selling well, aka much better than the 360, in Japan AND Europe... which is why it's only 8 million behind (of that 8 mill lead how big is it really when you factor in RROD?) Also why is it that several HUGE game companies, like EA, Konami,Capcom, etc are showing LARGER revenue for their software for PS3 compared to 360? Even Activsion-Blizzard is posting large numbers for ps3, still behind 360 but if you look at trends from ITD 06 forwad you'll see Sony isn't as bad off as you'd try to play off.

also have yoju bothered to read the 70% drop in manufacturing cost of production for the PS3? the original PS3 which orginally cost about 800usd to make? do the math and you'll see.

Cyborger.

Fair enough it's losing money, & I understand - the more they sell the more they make on the software, but the more they lose on the consoles at present - it will pay off in the long run, which seems to be what Sony are in for.

While I understand why people want a price cut, it's actually not bad value for money for what you get, but every games website harping on about this price story cut day after day after day is probably a big factor in delaying customers purchases, & if they'd just shut up about it for a while, more customers would purchase it & the price would probably come down quicker. It's a viscious cirle that isn't all Sonys' doing. If you take the worldwide figures it's sold about the same as the 360 did in the same timescale since release, so it's hardly struggling to sell units considering it's price, it's just not got the total sales to match the other consoles yet.

20+ million units isn't to be sniffed at, & it will carry on selling. The Playstation brand isn't just going to up & die in a hurry.

@ Kaden - Obviously you know nothing about business. The PS3 is still selling but it's not selling good (outside of Japan) and it's losing money daily.

Old news. It's business, Sony is a company trying to make money, & the PS3 is still selling. I've got mine so I'm not fussed, but I'd rather they were still in business than drive themselves to bankrupcy. It might be over dramatic, but they'll drop the price when it's financially viable.
