Infinity Ward: Wii can’t deliver Modern Warfare 2 cinematic experience
Don’t expect to see Modern Warfare 2 on the Wii anytime soon. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling says Nintendo’s white box isn’t capable of providing the same experience as other consoles.
Speaking about the in-demand shooter Infinity Ward community manager hinted that the Wii may not see a release of Modern Warfare 2, saying that it doesn’t quite have the skills to deliver the same “cinematic experience” possible on the PS3, Xbox 360 or PC.
“If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform,” said Bowling.
“Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it’s not equal then we won’t do it.”
That is unless Treyarch port the game over to the Wii just like it’s currently doing with Call of Duty 4, which will finally be releasing on November 10th titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex.
Bowling once more expressed Infinity Ward’s desire to make more Call of Duty titles.
“We still make Call of Duty games because we’re having fun doing it. And when it stops being fun, we’ll move onto something else.”
