Heavy Rain a PS3 seller says David Cage
Quantic Dreams boss and Heavy Rain director David Cage believes that Heavy Rain is already convincing gamers to purchase a PS3.
Chatting about the narrative-driven title Cage said that the buzz on the Internet forums is that Heavy Rain will help shift a few PS3 consoles.
“This experience should be available exclusively on PlayStation 3, and we want people to buy a PlayStation 3 because of Heavy Rain”, he told IGN.
“We’re really happy at the moment – and I hope it’s going to last – that when we go onto forums we find people watching the trailers and stuff and saying ‘this is the game that’s going to make me buy a PlayStation 3′”, he added.
He compared the game (inevitably) to Farenheit, saying that Heavy Rain is “really Fahrenheit with more experience, more maturity and probably a better vision and understanding of how this type of experience can be created.”
Cage earlier announced that the game will be getting a pre-launch demo.

Why does it say “Heavy Rain 3″ in the title?
It was a typo! Thanks for spotting it! As clumsy as it was. Changed now
No prob.
I’d love to see Heavy Rain a success.
Sony needs to really get behind it with the marketing and really let prospective gamers know what the game is all about.
Im not interested in watching a book..
This game looks sooo boring.. For 60$ what a joke, get to watch two hours of cut scenes.
hvhvhvhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
^ see, people have no idea what Heavy Rain is and how it’s played. Thanks for proving that point Michael.
will not be playing this trash
Wow, a lot of ignorance in these posts, only goes to show how poor this game will probably do in terms of sales, I for one would buy a PS3 all over again just for this Game, keep up the good work Cage, you still got a very dedicated fan base despite of all these idiots around who can’t bear to watch more than 5 minutes of cutcsenes or else their tiny brain would explode.
this is just a way better looking game than dragon’s lair. for $60, hell no.
while its my most anticipated game for next year bar GOW3, mafia 2 and dantes inferno its not a ps3 seller.
i really cant see people buying a ps3 just for this.
for GOW3 or GT5 or agent yea, but thats about it.
i even doubt people will buy this game because they cant get this QTE mentality out of their head.
ive got a feeling it will be one of the most highly acclaimed titles for next year, it will get raving reviews from the industry.
but when it comes to gamers and sales i dont expect it to be as positive.
I find it hilarious that the 360 fanboys are on here bashing the lengthy cutscenes while, at the same time, they’re worshipping that pile of garbage Halo 3: ODST which only lasts for 3 minutes – cutscenes included!
Paying £40 for a full game – smart.
Paying £40 for a 3 – minute piece of DLC – idiotic.
