WiiWare demos coming this month

Submitted by Joe Lee on November 4, 2009 – 2:08 pmNo Comment

Nintendo WiiWare demos coming this monthNintendo will finally offer up WiiWare demos in a bid to boost sales of its downloadable titles by offering gamers the chance to test drive new games.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told Q&A session attendees of the demo program saying that the first batch of WiiWare demos could be arriving some time this month.

It’s all part of a trial by Nintendo to get more Wii owners to shop on the Wii Shopping Channel.

According to IGN Iwata doesn’t see demos as the ultimate solution but acknowledges that gamers want to be able to try out new games without having to cough up the cash to try before they buy.

But don’t get too excited just yet. It looks like it could be a Japan only trial for now until Nintendo discovers a way to make it work.
