3D games coming to BlackBerry handsetsBlackBerry maker, RIM may soon be adding new support to its handsets to bring 3D gaming to the chatty emailer.

Speaking at the company’s developer conference in San Francisco RIM said that it’s hoping to support OpenGL ES tech in its BlackBerry handsets.

It means developers will be able to developer 3D games like those available on the iPhone.

“With OpenGL ES support, Java developers will have the ability to build 3D games and graphics for BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry OS 5.0 and higher,” RIM said.

It’s part of the company’s bid to get more quality games on BlackBerry devices. As Pocket-lint reports EA has already started making games for BlackBerrys.
