LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars in developmentMore sci-fi based toy building action is on the way after Lucasarts announced that Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is in development.

The next offering in the LEGO Star Wars franchise promises to deliver all the blockbusting action found in previous Star Wars Lego titles along with new gameplay features and characters from the previous Star Wars games.

According to Lucasarts: “The game will feature brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields.”

Players will take on the role of either the Jedi or Separatist, with new abilities such as “Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups, all within a new, easy-to-navigate hub,” the publisher says.

LucasArts has yet to shout a release date for the game. It’s still in development so hold tight.
