“Just about” every PSP UMD game to be available on PSN

Submitted by Matt Jackson on June 10, 2009 – 7:58 pmOne Comment

"Just about" every PSP UMD game to be available on PSNIn preparation for the arrival of the PSP Go Sony has pledged to make nearly all PSP UMD games available for download on the PlayStation Store after the PSP Go’s release.

A posting by Sony’s Jeff Rubenstein over on the US PlayStation Blog said “It’s my understanding that just about everything hitting after October 1 will be available for download.”

The inclusion of most UMD PSP games as downloads will be seen as a sensible (some will say obvious) decision, although Rubenstein suggested it was up to third party developers to decide which of their titles will be available.

Even better news for PSP owners will come when Sony finally gets round to offering those free digital copies of games to PSP Go upgrading customers.
