It looks like the excellent-looking Tatsunoko vs. Capcom won’t be heading to the PS3 or Xbox 360. The good news is owners of both are more likely to get a sequel.

From what we’ve seen of the Wii-exclusive Tatsunoko vs Capcom it looks like being one of the best fighters around, unfortunately it won’t be getting ported to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Asked about whether the game will come ot the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game’s producer Ryota Niitsuma told VideoGamer.com “Currently, no, but we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii.”

Niitsuma went on to say a sequel of the game would be more likely on the Sony and Microsoft consoles than a port of the incoming Wii title.

“The other problem is the game is optimised for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.”

That said we shouldn’t get too excited too quickly. The first game isn’t even out yet and any such sequel would be a long way off. Still, there’s some hope.
