Activision planning two Modern Warfare 2 map packs
The long-awaited shooter isn’t out till November but Activsion is already planning not one, but two Modern Warfare 2 map packs.
It wasn’t till later on in its cycle that the original Modern Warfare was given the map pack treatment, but with pre-orders of Modern Warfare 2 being the highest in Activision history there’s even more reason to bring out additional map packs.
Speaking about additional Modern Warfare 2 DLC Activision CEO and president Mike Griffith said: “In terms of online content, we plan to launch two separate map packs for this title.”
“Map packs help extend the shelf life of the franchise, as evidenced by the strong catalogue sales and premium pricing that we maintained a year-and-a-half after launch. Life to date, we’ve had strong success with map packs on this franchise, selling more than 8 million units for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.”
With Map Pack 3 for World at War already out gamers should have enough Call of Duty action to keep them occupied till November, add to that additional MW2 DLC and fans will be spoilt for choice, if not a little poorer.
