Xbox 360 Elite sales rise 43 percent in UK following price cut

Xbox 360 Elite sales rise 43 percent in UK following price cutSales of the Xbox 360 Elite shot up 43 percent over the bank holiday weekend thanks to the recent price drop of the console to £199.

The new lower price point makes the Xbox 360 Elite a full £50 cheaper than the PS3 Slim in the UK and it seems to have scored more than a few points with consumers.

Sales of Xbox 360 are up 43 per cent,” a Chart-Track rep told GamesIndustry.biz. “Essentially, looking at the price, obviously it’s the Elite that’s done the business with those sales.”

Although it’s far too early to discover what impact the Xbox 360 Elite price chop will have on the PS3 Slim. The slimmed down console has only just arrived. “It’s quite a big deal for Sony next week,” the rep added.

With the PS3 Slim and price cut finally here previous fence sitters will be looking to snap up the PS3 Slim in their droves despite analysts predicting that the price cuts won’t stimulate the market.
