Rock Band Nights to transform karaoke in the U.S

Submitted by Stephen Ebert on September 2, 2009 – 11:00 amNo Comment

Rock Band Nights to transform karaoke in the U.SDrink fueled karaoke nights in the pub will never be the same after MTV Games announced a Rock Band Nights initiative to get karaoke fans playing the game in bars.

Soon bars in the U.S will be able to hold designated ‘Rock Band Nights’ letting socialisers and wannabe X-Factor auditionees take to the stage to take reigns of a Rock Band axe, drum kit or warble along on the mic.

Bars willing to put up with the inevitable din will have their establishment designated as an official Rock Band Bar Nights venue and get to use all sorts of promotional material and banners to show off the venue off along with access to over 800 Rock Band songs.

Participating bars will also get listed on RockBand.com, promotion via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and get full support from the Rock Band Nights support team. So it could be a nice little earner too.

Here’s hoping some of that will be heading to liven up some of the UK’s dingy watering holes.
