PS3 Firmware 3.01 adds pizza ordering button

Submitted by Joe Lee on September 17, 2009 – 9:30 amOne Comment

PS3 Firmware 3.01 adds pizza ordering buttonOne of the features Sony didn’t tell us about with regard to PS3 firmware 3.01 was the ability to order pizza from the console’s startup screen.

The latest PS3 firmware, introduced to fix the unwanted game freezes that came with the 3.0 update puts a Papa John’s button on the startup screen for more efficient faster pizza ordering.

Hitting the button apparently takes users to a PS3 version of the Papa John’s website promoting the pizzeria’s own offers along with adverts for the latest PlayStation content such as PixelJunk Shooter, LittleBigPlanet and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

It means a pizza is only a few button presses away in between and during gaming sessions.

The tasty feature is for U.S foodbags only so we’re yet to see the button for ourselves but the ability to order food from a console to ones door is more than a little appetising.

As a happy new owner of the PS3 version 3.01, I will be happy to say that this information is false. Whoever started this rumor needs to check the source a little better next time. If they were, they jerked it at the last second.

    Good Day
