After suffering a real slap in the face, Microids is going to offer a major update to the game and announces a release on Nintendo Switch.

Microids decided to take things in hand after the failed remake of the game XIII released in late 2020. Indeed the soft has known the ire of many fans who questioned the gameplay, the presence of bugs in spades, too many problems displaying animations and many other elements.

XIII in September on Switch

In order to meet the justified demands of gamers and to restore its reputation, Microids called upon the studio from La Rochelle Tower Five to rework from scratch the new version of the a legendary cel-shaded game released in 2003 which allowed to relive the first 5 volumes of the comic book designed by the pencil strokes of William Vance and the pen of Jean Van Hamme.

After more than a year of work dedicated to the complete redesign of the game and more particularly on the correction of the bugs, the artistic direction while passing by AI of the characters, this update will finally be available from September 13almost 2 years after the release of the software. It will also include the arrival of multiplayer, as expected as it was decried, where players will be able to compete in lines of up to 13. Owners of XIII Remake on PC, PS4 and Xbox One will be able to perform this update for free in order to fully enjoy the game as it should have been initially.

We are aware that the initial release of XIII Remake on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC did not meet the standards desired by gamers. More than a year ago, we made the decision to entrust the production to Tower Five, a studio from La Rochelle that has already worked with us on several occasions, including successfully bringing Agatha Christie – The ABC Murders to Nintendo Switch. We really wanted to correct the game in depth and thus offer XIII Remake owners a free update worthy of the original game. These many improvements have been integrated directly into the Nintendo Switch version and the addition of multiplayer mode across all versions closes the development of the game. We can’t wait for players around the world to get their hands on this massive update later this summer to (re)discover the adventures of the famous Agent XIII.

But that’s not all! The game will also be ported to Nintendo Switch which will be released at the same time as this famous update, on September 13, 2022. Microids has revealed the work done for this port in a new video.
