Obsidian’s next RPG is information-sparse, but it looks like it’s opted for Epic Games’ new engine.

Avowed is a Medieval Fantasy RPG announced by Obsidian Entertainment (The Outer Worlds, Pillars of Eternity) in 2020 as bigger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but not given much news since, except that it will be very different from The Elder Scrolls VI.

Any information on its development is therefore welcome, and the latest is that it appears to be developed under Unreal Engine 5the all-new state-of-the-art graphics engine fromEpic Games.

It’s the LinkedIn profile of Aaron Duboisone of the visual effects managers of the game, which suggests that. This indeed refers to the UE5, which is not very surprising since we know that 8 Xbox Game Studios, to which Obsidian belongs, use it.

waited on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Seriesas well as day one in the Game Pass, Avowed is one of the next big Xbox exclusives that could hopefully be released soon, during the June 12 Xbox conference.
