While The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed are in the works, Obsidian has reportedly started talking with Microsoft about a potential Fallout New Vegas sequel.
For many, Fallout New Vegas is one, if not THE, best opus of the license. Often adored for its writing and its universe with little onions, New Vegas has an important place in the hearts of fans and it is also surprising not to have had a sequel. But now that Obsidian is part of the Microsoft team, everything could change, and obviously the subject is causing a lot of talk in the localseven though the studio already has a lot of projects in the works.
No Fallout New Vegas 2 for years, but it’s talking
Indeed, according to Jeff Grubb, the project could be in the pipes faster than expected. However, the man warns that, if there is a project, we will not see anything for years since it is for the moment only internal discussions between Obsidian and Microsoft.
It’s very early days, but people started having discussions and saying the words “Obsidian” and “New Vegas 2” in the same sentences.[…] Sure, we’re talking years, but at least there’s interest and conversations taking place to make Fallout New Vegas 2 something concrete.[…] A lot of people at Microsoft think it might work and that there is genuine interest in the project.
It is therefore not yet tomorrow the day before that we will see an official Fallout New Vegas 2, but in any case, it is very likely that the long-awaited sequel will end up becoming a reality. Wait and see as they say.
