It’s been a long time since the city of Las Vegas has established itself as a top sports destination in the world.
This was proven once again on Wednesday, March 30, when it was announced that the Formula 1 World Championship will be held here every year for the first time on November 18, 2023.
Ahead of this promising competition by a year, the Caesars Palace casino recently announced a party in honor of the arrival of F1 in the city.
This will be held on Friday, November 5.
Different attractions on the theme of car racing
Absolutely free for the public, the famous party celebrating the future Grand Prix of Las Vegas will take place on Friday, November 5, 2022 throughout Caesars Palace between 11am and 11pm.
In the presence of several Formula 1 teams and drivers, various attractions on the theme of car racing are already planned.
Among them, we can mention for example the Pit Stop challenge which proposes to the participants to try to change a wheel in less than 3 seconds. There will also be a simulator to compete against other budding drivers on the official competition game.
Finally, there will even be a car race with drivers from Oracle Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas on the Strip.
Pits and paddocks already under construction
It’s been more than 40 years now since there was a Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas. Indeed, the last one took place in 1982 after a first edition in 1981. At that time, the track was limited to the Caesars Palace parking lot. The next race, which will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, starting at 10 pm, will cover a large part of the Strip. The 6.12 km circuit will be covered 50 times. It includes 14 turns and a straight line of about 1.9 km where vehicles should be able to exceed 320 km/h.
In preparation for the first race, the Formula One World Championship purchased a plot of land of more than 15 hectares that is located near the Strip for the sum of 240 million dollars. On this plot of land, which previously housed the Ice nightclub, the construction of pits and paddocks has already begun.
A taste of the future Las Vegas Grand Prix
At its party on Friday, November 5, 2022, Caesars Palace wants to give Formula 1 fans a taste of what’s to come with the future Grand Prix of Las Vegas.
The Strip hotel-casino also made it known that the first 500 fans aged 21 or older who attend the party will have a chance to win a ticket to a VIP celebration that evening, featuring a concert by alternative rock band The Killers.
