Famous heroic fantasy author, Brandon Sanderson was approached by Bandai Namco and already has an idea to work on a game like Elden Ring.
While FromSoftware and Bandai Namco tapped George RR Martin to work on Elden Ring, Bandai reportedly recently approached another author of heroic-fantasy fan of FromSoftware games and the latter would even have some ideas to submit to them.
Towards a Souls-like written by Brandon Sanderson? He already has a pitch!
Visibly satisfied with the collaboration with George RR Martin on Elden Ring, Bandai Namco approached heroic fantasy author Brandon Sandersonknown in particular for his sagas Mistborn or The Roshar Archives.
The writer, who previously teased the news last December, recently held a stream in which he opens a large package received from the publisher, including several Elden Ring goodies and a note where Bandai says it is ‘interested in a collaboration’.
A news that seems to delight the author especially since he already has some ideas for a future Soulsborne.
I’m [intéressé] also, in fact. I even have a pitch for them…so I might have to send it to them and see what they think. […]I always have an idea for everything. That’s the thing.
You know what happened when I thought, “I wonder what I would do if I ever wrote a Magic: The Gathering story”? I spent four years developing a story for Magic: The Gathering in case Magic contacted me saying, “Hey, do you want to write a story for us?” and that I can say: “yes, I already have one!”. And I did.
Similarly, I thought, “What would I do if I was offered a Soulsborne?”. Of course, that’s not for me to decide, is it? Corn i have an idea in mind, so maybe you will hear from me soon. I have some ideas… I always have ideas.
Brandon Sanderson would therefore be visibly motivated to work on a Soulsborne. No wonder when you know that the author is a fan of the first hour and that he had already kicked at FromSoftware when the studio was looking for a feather for Elden Ring.
Moreover, Sanderson had risen to the towers when George RR Martin had been selected for Elden Ring, stating that he did not understand that “someone who spends his days blogging about the NFL” had been chosen, so that he was a big fan of the studio since Kings Field.
That should calm his ardor…
