Blizzard surprised everyone by announcing a survival game in a new universe. But the idea isn’t new, as the game has been in production since 2017.
In the news after a year of complaints and court cases, then takeover by Microsoftthe Blizzard studio had promised info on its flagship games but surprised everyone by announcing a new title in an exclusive IPa survival project.
The idea obviously made its way for a few years, since the project manager, Craig Amaihad given a little hint during the announcement on his Twitter:
Once upon a time there was a dream project that was just a humble pitch on my desk. Today, it is a team of passionate people who share a vision of which I am very proud to be a part.

On closer inspection, via the creator’s LinkedIn profile, Blizzard’s project was launched in July 2017. Unfortunately, we will not know anything more for the moment, and especially not the release date, which could however be closer than expected based on this new information.
Although, Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV have been announced since 2019 and the release date is still unclear, let’s not be in too much of a rush…
