Electronic roulette cheating at Casino Wien in Austria
In roulette, not everyone has the reflex to use a strategy like a martingale in order to win big.
Some dishonest individuals prefer to engage in a cheating technique instead. Nevertheless, this can end badly for them.
This is precisely what today’s news reminds us. It concerns a trio of gamblers who allegedly tampered with an electronic roulette wheel at the Wien Casino in Vienna, Austria.
In the end, they were spotted by the security service and arrested by the police.
Cheating uncovered through video surveillance tapes
On Tuesday, February 7th, the police had to intervene in a gaming room in Austria in order to arrest 3 alleged cheaters.
It was the security guards of the Wien Casino who gave the alert. One player was racking up too much winnings on the electronic roulette wheel, so they took a closer look at his actions.
They discovered that he was not relying on luck or strategy alone to win. In fact, he did not hesitate to manipulate the device.
This one is located on the first floor of the famous gaming establishment. It features a cylinder protected by a dome and various stations that allow customers to place their bets.
The advantage of this type of electronic roulette is that it can operate without the presence of a croupier. So you can play the queen of casinos as long as the complex is open.
Via the video surveillance tapes, the security guards noticed that the famous lucky player was using his cleverly placed jacket to conceal a manipulation of the cylinder.
More gaming sessions between late January and early February 2023
When they finally realized the cheating technique they were using, the security guards at Casino Wien called the police. Once there, the police arrested the famous 47 year old customer. They also arrested two alleged accomplices, both 34 years old and of Moroccan and Dominican nationality.
It would not be the first time that they use this stratagem in the gaming establishment. They would have been there several times between the end of January and the beginning of February 2023. Unfortunately, the amount of the loss has not been officially disclosed.
