Embracer’s acquisition of Square Enix Studios is finalized


A new name will soon be given to Square Enix Montreal, one of the studios that are now part of Embracer Group.

Last May, and for a pittance some would say, the Swedish ogre took over the “unprofitable” part of Square Enix, namely almost the whole of Square Enix Europe (ex-Eidos): Square Enix Montreal, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

Embracer Group has just announced the completion of this acquisition and explains that “Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal (which will soon be renamed) are now part of the family“.
