If the PS4 game of Final Fantasy VII Remake had been offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers, they could not claim the PlayStation 5 improvements. That will change, in addition to being able to buy the INTERmission DLC at a lower cost.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of the PS Plus games of March 2021, a very nice giveaway that was nonetheless a bit poisoned since users of this free version could not access the free PS5 update which contained its share of technical improvements.
This contested decision takes a new turn several months later: Square Enix announces that the PS5 update of FF7 Remake will also be available, this Wednesday, December 22, 2021, for PlayStation Plus subscribers who have recovered the PS4 software through this.
The other announcement is that the “INTERmission” DLC will be offered on the same date with a 25% reduction for a certain period:
As of Wednesday, anyone who has previously picked up the PlayStation Plus version of #FinalFantasy VII Remake will be able to download the PS5 upgrade.
