Final Fantasy VII Remake part 2 will give news this year

Expect to hear more about FF VII Remake Part 2 over the next 12 months, according to Yoshinori Kitase, the original game’s director.

During an interview given on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Final Fantasy VII in Japan, Yoshinori Kitase, the director of the original game, has confirmed that he fully intended to reveal the first details of the sequel to FF VII Remake this year:

We are working hard on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, so you can expect some new info about the game. Also, regarding the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake [partie2]… There will be other information, this year if possible.

Asked if the game would be revealed this year, Yoshinori Kitase replied:

Well yes. The 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII just started, so we want to celebrate it and keep the fans interested, so we want to share information over the next 12 months. You can expect it!

It is true that little information has filtered out concerning the second part of Final Fantasy VII Remake, except that Naoki Hamaguchi, co-director of the first episode, will take the controls alone, Tetsuya Nomura positioning himself as creative director.

Tetsuya Nomura also clarified that this second part would take more advantage of the unique functions of the PS5.

In addition, Square Enix celebrated the quarter century of FF VII by posting Monday, January 31 a message addressed to the fans and confirming that several projects on the license were in development.
