Presented for a few months as the FIFA-Killer, UFL revealed itself in a long behind-the-scenes and gameplay video. We can see the passion and ambition of the indie studio behind the game.

The Belarusian game UFL had promised gameplay for this Thursday and the video is now available. Many people were waiting to learn more about who wants to establish himself as a real competition in FIFAalmost alone on the market since the flop of the new eFootball (ex-PES).

In this presentation, the developers re-explain the guiding lines of the game: a free-to-play, where only the talent of the players will count for the evolution of the game. Strikerz showed off the game’s cutscenes “which will all look like snippets from soccer documentaries,” thanks to motion capture and the Unreal Engine 5. Basically, you won’t “see the difference between the game and a real match TV broadcast”.

The studio already has partners like Rangers, Chakthar Donetsk, Monaco or Besiktas, but also five ambassadors for the game including Firmino and… Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star was a FIFA 18 ambassador but joined Konami in 2021 due to the partnership with Juventus. Except that in the meantime, he returned to Manchester United… Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne also arrive and add a little more weight.

Overall, the game will take the form of FIFA’s FUT mode, where the player will have to evolve his club and his character (like a career mode) in a unique global competition each season. Each winner will be able to display their virtual trophy for all to see. Finally, the matches will be played in 2v2 or 3v3, online and local. He should go out in 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
