30 years after the release of the first opus that left its mark on the video game world, Flashback is making a comeback.

As part of the Summer Game Fest 2022 taking place last week, Microids has lifted the veil on the future game Flashback 2. The famous investigative agent Conrad B. Hart returns for a brand new adventure developed by its creator Paul Cuisset and Microids Studio Lyon.

Whereas in the previous opus, Conrad and his partners had defeated the Master Brainthe return of the Morphs, an extraterrestrial race, weakens the stability of the worlds and raises fears of the disappearance of several civilizations. Furthermore, his friend Ian gets kidnapped and our hero will go to investigate what is going on behind his kidnapping.

Back to the Future

Of course, all the elements that have been part of the success of Flashback are going to make the return as the places of Neo Washington or the Jungle, as well as the collaboration of Thierry Perreau as game designer or that of Raphaël Gesqua who was the composer of the version of the game on Amiga. Flashback 2 will also integrate its famous action and infiltration phases, all in its side scroller style in a futuristic world.

Paul Cuisset has the firm will to return to his creation by remaining as faithful as possible to the universe conceived beforewhile bringing a new story and a new place like Neo Tokyo or a space base and new characters.

In order to best transcribe reality, the renowned stuntman Jamel Blissat (Moon Knight and Indiana Jones 5) will put on our hero Conrad’s costume and lend him his moves and acrobatics.

Flashback 2 is planned for this winter on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. A version Switch is also in the news but will not be released until 2023.
