Following the takeover of Perfect World Entertainment by Embracer and its transformation into Gearbox Publishing, a first game bears the brunt of the reorganization: Forsaken World.

It’s common these days. If several big video game companies are closing servers and stopping online support for many games to save time or space, entire MMORPGs were also disappearing. This was the case a few weeks ago Terathe title of Gameforge and Bluehole, almost 10 years after its release.

Today, Forsaken World announces the end of its activities, 11 years after its launch. The shutdown was made official by Gearbox Publishing, the new name of Perfect World Entertainment, a studio acquired by Embracer and merged into the Gearbox group recently. We limit the breakage on the side of the new parent company, which probably saw no profitability in this activity.

The electricity will be cut on November 30, 2022.

This decision was very difficult to make, but we are grateful for the love, support and dedication you have given to the game and to all the wonderful communities that have grown out of FW. We believe there is no more room for FW to flourish and grow. To make amends with our most dedicated fans, we make sure to offer refunds for the last few months.

The in-game store closed at the end of April and refunds will affect purchases that have taken place since March 1st, turning them into Arc Points that you can use in the launcher of the new Gearbox Publishing studio, namely Perfect World International, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and Champions Online.
