If you weren’t live in the game during the End of Season event, Fortnite’s Island was ravaged again during the Chapter End Final Event a few days ago. You can also see “The End” as if you were there on this link. Following this new start, the map has been modified and is currently under the snow, probably temporarily to celebrate the end of the year.
Fortnite Chapter 3 – the new map
In this new, very cold ecosystem (which takes up a good part of the island), players will be able to discover the village of Greasy Grove or the industrial site of Logjam Lumberyard.
Towards the east, the island becomes tropical again with several islets. If the Seven have set up outposts all over the island, it is in this place that the HQ called the Sanctuary. Located by the sea, this locality is dominated by the colossal statue of the Foundation.
With the arrival of Spider-Man in the season, you will also find a large emblematic building, the building of the Daily Bugle, not far from there, reference to the place where Peter Parker works. Finally, in the south, you will find a more arid climate (and now rarer), with the Chonkers circuit to go off-piste, the Canyon Condo or the Butter Barn.
Fortnite Chapter 3 – The Battle Pass
The island is occupied by the Seven, the new protagonists of Fortnite’s lore. You can talk to these islanders again and barter with them in multiple locations. Spider-Man is also a new resident of Fortnite and will be part of the characters to unlock in the Battle Pass for this season 1. Before him, you will find:
- Shanta, the Lotus Walker, unlocked as soon as you purchase the Battle Pass
- Ronin, the Vagabond
- Lieutenant John Lama, always down to earth
- Gumbo, artificial taste but authentic style
- Harlowe, the optimistic outlaw
- Native, born to defend the island
Holding The Foundation, the leader of the Seven (and therefore as we had discovered earlier, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock) will also be unlocked at the end of the season.
Fortnite Chapter 3 – updates and new weapons
Fortnite is testing a brand new sidebar, allowing you to click on a friend’s profile to find out what game mode they are playing, in what server region they are in, what their language is, if they have the Battle Pass or if they are subscribed at the Fortnite Club, and if we have any friends in common.
This new feature will arrive gradually for BR and Creative mode players, depending on testing.
New weapons are also coming to the game, including the Mark 7 assault rifle of the Seven. A medium and long range weapon with a high cadence and a red dot. You will also find new gameplay options such as the possibility of deploy a tent.
Camping is better together. If you are playing in a duo, in a trio or in a section, you can set up a camp with several people to enjoy the view together. When a teammate sets up a tent, you can interact with them to purchase yours by pouring ingots. Is the storm catching up with your camp? Pack up your tents and go camping somewhere else … or leave them there if you don’t have time. You can find your items in all the tents you own!
From December 11 at 4 p.m., you can also get your hands on the spider-man web launcher and use them to swing between buildings like spider-man.
Several healing items are also arriving, such as the medibrume, a vaporizer medikit, or the shark, a gourd that restores you 100 HP as long as you are not attacked.
Finally, weather phenomena arrive on the island: tornadoes can land at any time, and suck you in. Pay attention!
Fortnite Chapter 3 – the quests
In this new chapter, the Weekly quests are now visible in the Lobby Quests page only, in three different forms. In addition to these daily quests, which change every day at 3 p.m., there are the season quests and stage quests, available throughout the season and updated weekly, Thursdays at 3 p.m.
Also consider going to the Sanctuary to discover a new type of quests, based on a communication device named the device. This allows you to listen to messages from the Scientist, the Brain of the Seven, in order to complete quests whose implications will extend far beyond the current season, with the aim of revealing the secrets of the Seven.
