Ghostbusters Remastered says goodbye to multiplayer that was promised

The remaster of the opus initially released in 2009 is taking the lead, because the promise of a post-launch multiplayer mode has visibly fallen into the water.

It was during an interview with MP1st than Tim Willits, Creative Director of Saber Interactive has announced a news that will finish showering the hopes of the fans. Indeed, contrary to what had been promised, the multiplayer mode of Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will never see the light of day.

At the same time, it would have been surprising to have had the opposite information more than 2 years after its release … In addition we spent in the meantime on new gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X / S). It was therefore irrelevant to mobilize staff to maintain a game that has been technically outdated for a long time.

This is something the team really wanted to include when they were working on this remaster a few years ago and had tried it, but the state of the original multiplayer code just didn’t allow it. We looked into it, but ultimately had to focus on recreating the solo experience that fans were expecting from us.

What memories will you keep of this episode taken from the universe of the Ghostbusters?
