The Netflix series based on the Guerrilla game universe has just found an executive producer in the person of Steve Blackman, the showrunner of Umbrella Academy.
Steve Blackman would soon have time to take care of a future series for Netflix. Indeed, Umbrella Academy has just revealed that it will end her story at the end of Season 4while the third has just been released on the SVOD platform. The American showrunner and producer, who previously worked on Fargo or Altered Carbon, has now only one project for the years to come: “Horizon”.
Umbrella Academy ends, Horizon begins!
The Netflix series doesn’t have an official title yet, but we know it’s one of the many adaptations ordered by Sony on its major licenses (the next of which, The Last of Us, has just revealed its official trailer). According to DeadlineBlackman has signed a multi-year contract for this series, and a space drama called Orbital. The whole will be produced by his new company Irish Cowboy, confirms the producer:
Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital are elevated, event-level projects rooted in characters that fans will love and identify with, which is the hallmark of Irish Cowboy productions. We are thrilled to be working with Netflix and all of our partners to develop these groundbreaking stories.
The series will be co-produced with Sony Pictures Televisions and PlayStation Productions. We also count on the presence of several original managers as executive producers, from Guerrilla or PlayStation. This is the case of Carter Bash and Asad Qizilbashwho will also produce the film Days Gone.
