An infographic published this week shows the share of Activision-Blizzard studios in Microsoft, in comparison with other video game subsidiaries including Xbox Game Studios.
Obviously, this infographic is not consistent that if the agreement between Activision-Blizzard and Microsoft is finalized in 2023, which is not necessarily acquired for the moment. But if the ABK group is incorporated as planned, eventually the new Microsoft Gaming branch will perform well more Blizzard than Xbox.
On Reddit, a user created a very clear picture of the size of the studios, figures based on the number of employees from the most recent figures found on Wikipedia or LinkedIn.
With its more than 5,000 employees, Blizzard is the behemoth of Microsoft, well beyond the mobile branch King (2600). On its own, Blizzard rivals Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda. As for the entire ABK group, it crushes the rest of Microsoft, reduced to a small third of its own company.
If you like numbers, several graphics have also appeared in recent weeks on the networks, to put into perspective the current plurality (or not) of video games.
The group #Embrace bought again at the end of the year. In 35 years, the world of video games has still been quite structured around a 10th of industry giants. Here is a small infographic of what the Swede represents today pic.twitter.com/xyiP1ZdfEy
