During its financial report, Activision-Blizzard confirmed the name of the developer associated with two of the upcoming Call of Duty franchise releases.
In the usual Call of Duty franchise release schedule, there are no surprises. If this had not been confirmed for the moment, Activision-Blizzard took advantage of its balance sheet to formalize the presence from Infinity Ward at the helm of the game’s next installment, in 2022.
As expected since it was his turn, the studio will be the one assigned to Call of Duty 2022. Even more logical when we know that it should be called Modern Warfare 2 and act as direct sequel to the 2019 edition, Modern Warfare. Activision also indicates that IW will be in charge of Warzone 2the studio having already worked on the Battle Royale released in 2020.

Development of this year’s premium and Warzone experiences is led by Activision’s renowned studio Infinity Ward.
Good news for many fans who consider the studio to be the strongest at the head of the editions of the series, especially after a Vanguard opus which is struggling to convince. Knowing that in the long term, Activision will reduce the airfoil, if we only have to keep one series and one studio, fans already have a name: Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare
For the record, after this year’s releases, Activision-Blizzard set to join Microsoft following takeover. But the Xbox manufacturer has already announced that it does not want to make the game exclusive to the console.
