PlayStation gamers are in for a treat, to say the least. And for good reason, the horrific card game has left no one indifferent thanks to its original mechanics drawn from several genres like the roguelike or the deck building. The creator of the game, Daniel Mullins, took the floor on the PlayStation blog to talk about his title, which he summarized in a few words:
Inscryption is a black ink odyssey with cards, which mixes roguelike, deck building, escape-room style puzzle game and psychological horror. From a videogame point of view, it’s a rather explosive mix. What starts as an efficient deck building game evolves very quickly into something else, but I’ll let you discover the dark secrets of the game by yourself.
And yes, this may come as a surprise, but psychological horror has a prominent place in this title. The premise is there to make you understand it:
As the adventure begins, you are at the mercy of a sadistic stranger known as Leshy, a figure whose eyes can only be discerned glowing from a dark corner of his cabin. You don’t remember how you got here, but Leshy offers you the opportunity to get out of this situation with a series of unique cards.
There’s plenty to look forward to, but unfortunately, you’ll have to be a little more patient. Indeed, no release date on PS4 and PS5 has been announced, we only know that it’s coming soon. In the meantime, you can find Inscryption on PC.
