The biggest hotel-casinos on the Las Vegas Strip do not only attract gamblers. In fact, the biggest international stars of the song also like to give concerts there in their prestigious showrooms.
Thus, for example, Lady Gaga was in residence at the Dolby Live at the MGM Park from the beginning of 2018 to May 2022 and Adele will give a series of concerts at the Colosseum of Caesars Palace from November 18.
For her part, the new Resorts World Las Vegas was the place to go to see pop singer Katy Perry.
On Thursday, October 27, she announced that she would extend her residency called Play until 2023.
14 additional concerts between February and April 2023
Katy Perry’s Play residency at Resorts World Las Vegas on the Strip began on December 29, 2021. Through a recent video posted on her Instagram account on Thursday, October 27, 2022, the American singer made it known that she was going to be extended for just that, 14 additional concerts between February and April 2023.
This will then be an opportunity to offer the public a fun walk down memory lane by going back to 2008. The new residency will feature a giant rat named Ratso, a talking piece of poop, and dancers in mushroom costumes in a dreamlike atmosphere reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.
Katy Perry’s next 14 concerts at Resorts World Las Vegas will take place on February 15, 17, 18, 22, 24 and 25, March 3 and 4, and April 5, 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15, 2023. Starting Friday, November 4, tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on the AXS digital platform. Before that, an American Express presale will take place from Tuesday, November 1st at 10am to Thursday, November 3rd at 10pm. Of course, all these different times are in Las Vegas.
Katy Perry’s ties to Las Vegas
Following her performance in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 22, Katy Perry made a lot of news because of an eye problem. Indeed, different videos show that the right eye of the singer seemed to open and close in a totally uncontrolled way making her look like a broken robot. Quickly, this made a lot of noise on the web.
In passing, we can recall that the star has undeniable family ties with Las Vegas. Indeed, his father was a limousine driver in the city for 25 years. It was there that he met Katy Perry’s future mother, who was a freelance reporter for ABC. In addition, the singer’s aunt was a showgirl at the Lido de Paris at the Stardust where the Resorts World Las Vegas now stands.
The latter opened its doors on June 24, 2021. With more than 3,500 rooms or suites, it also houses a gaming hall that covers an area of more than 10,900 m².
