Kick pays $100 million for xQc
Twitch is a platform for broadcasting live video over the web. Its impressive market dominance has been under attack for some time now from various new entrants such as Kick.
The latter is attracting more and more streamers who have made a name for themselves on Twitch.
After Amouranth or Trainwrecks, for example, it’s xQc has just joined Kick for a cool $100 million..

Some Twitch updates that displease many content creators
On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the Twitch platform made it known that it would be updating its terms of use, banning most videos related to online casinos, which took effect the following October 18.
It also changed its monetization policy. From now on, it will no longer be satisfied with taking only 30% of revenues from content creators. For amounts in excess of $100,000, it has decided to go for a 50/50 split.
Logically, some streamers didn’t like these changes very much. That’s why some decided to move to other live video streaming platforms like Kick, for example.

xQc and Kick sign 2-year contract
At the moment, the Kick platform is attracting many former streamers who have found success on Twitch. These include Trainwrecks and Amouranth, as well as Roshtein and Xposed.
They’ve just been imitated by xQc, which has accepted a handsome cheque for $100 million to offer its content on Kick for a minimum of 2 years. What’s more, the content creator will benefit from a much more attractive monetization policy.
This is because the platform recovers only 5% of streamers’ revenues. Streamers are also free to offer videos related to online casino games.
While xQc has made a name for itself with content on League of Legends and Overwatch video games, it has also streamed quite a few online casino gaming sessions. Incidentally, he had made it known that he had lost around $1.8 million to his games in 1 year.
By switching to Kick, xQc will once again be able to stream content related to online casino games, which is no longer possible on Twitch.

For some time now, the Kick platform has been openly spending a lot of money to attract some of the most popular streamers. It would appear that this strategy is paying off.
Indeed, for a while, everyone thought that Youtube Gaming was going to establish itself as Twitch’s only real competitor. In the end, we’ll also have to reckon with Kick.
Behind the latter platform are 2 well-known companies involved in online gaming: developer Easygo Gaming and online casino Stake.
Founded in 2017, the latter specializes in cryptocurrencies and allows us to play Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Ripple (XRP), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Bitcoin Cash (BCC), among others.
