As the Killer Instinct rumor picks up again, sources believe that the recent recruitment of Erin Piepergerdes at Microsoft would have a link with the project.

Recently, the rumor from the Killer Instinct project was relaunched following recruitment by Iron Galaxy for a new AAA game based on a major franchise and in partnership with a major publisher. Between the lines, we can therefore see a long-awaited return of Killer Instinct IP, commissioned by Microsoft who would have the volunteer to relaunch the license.

On Windows Central, the insider Jez Corden gives a layer of it this Thursday, specifying that a team from Bandai Namco could be tasked with co-producing this comeback. A renowned studio specializing in the genre, necessary to compete with the heavyweights of the sector, which have also signed juicy contracts with Nintendo and Sony, the competition.

Finally, recruitment last November by Erin Piepergerdes, former producer of Warner Bros Games and especially of NetherRealm Studios (in charge of the Mortal Kombat franchise), now at Xbox Game Studios, would not be trivial to the project. Unfortunately for the fans, for the moment all this is only rumor coming from uncertain sources. We will have to wait a little longer to find out more about this possible return of the series launched in 1994 and disappeared since 2013.
