The French studio, which has been announcing projects and new acquisitions in spades since 2021, has just offered itself part of OSome Studio, at the origin of some comic book adaptations.
It stays in the family. Microids, which wants to be the French Tencent in 2022, announced take a stake in the capital of OSome Studio, one of his usual partners. Indeed, the Lyon studio has developed a few games from the catalog very oriented adaptations of Microids comic book licenses, in particular The Smurfs – Mission Malfeuille and Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered.
For Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids, after the creation of Microids Studio Lyon and Microids Studio Paris, “we want to make a long-term commitment with one of our partner studios, OSome Studio. At Microids, we believe it is essential in 2022 to maintain partnerships with French studios who are the pride of our video game cultural heritage”.
The studio should be able to continue to develop platformers based on large licenses in the publisher’s catalog. OSOme is already announced on “a new title to be announced soon”. As a reminder, Microids has already announced a bunch of new projects in the same vein recently, such as that of Grendizer, but also projects without a developer announced for the moment: Garfield games and adaptations of novels by Bernard Werber.
