Following the great success of the French JRPG, Edge of Eternity, the publisher Nacon has announced the acquisition of Midgar Studio, the Nîmes creation team behind the game.
Nacon continues its development by announcing a new acquisition. The French manufacturer and publisher has just bought Midgar Studioa studio from Nîmes which has experienced a leap in notoriety recently with the release of Edge of Eternity, a JRPG which caught our eye when it was released on PC last year.
Waiting for his new-gen version on PS5 and Xbox Series, scheduled for February 10, Midgar will pass a higher course by having proven the full extent of his talent. Nacon has already announced that it will leave a total creative freedom to this small team of a dozen people who are fans of Japanese culture.
To be creative and at the same time in technical excellence is a challenge which constitutes both a particularity but also the trademark of Midgar Studio. We are very happy to join NACON who knew how to understand and listen to our needs. Benefiting from their support gives us the opportunity to carry out our ambitions while maintaining a great deal of autonomy.
– Jeremy Zeler-Maury, manager of Midgar Studio
Nacon Gaming now has 15 development sites, including 10 on our territory, i.e. nearly 600 developers.
