Next year, there are 3 licenses that will be issued for land-based casinos in the southern part of the state of New York, where we find, among others, the eponymous city. As a result, a lot of projects are being presented at the moment.
The latest one is being carried by several companies involved in the gaming industry in the United States who have come together.
Together they want to build a hotel-casino budgeted at 3 billion dollars which could open on Coney Island in the southernmost part of the borough of Brooklyn.
A project that has received the support of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce
For the moment, there is unfortunately still little information that has filtered on this famous project. We can however say that it plans to create a hotel with different entertainment facilities and a casino part with slot machines but also tables dedicated to traditional games.
During the construction period of this $3 billion facility, 2,500 new jobs were to be created. Afterwards, thousands of jobs will be needed to keep the complex running.
So here is a project that should boost the economic development of Coney Island, something that the residents of this neighborhood have been waiting for long before the international pandemic of the Covid-19 coronavirus. This is surely why the project has received the support of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
For the record, the former island turned peninsula of Coney Island is home to, among other things, an amusement park popular with the middle class and a seaside resort with a very large beach along which the famous Riegelmann Boardwalk extends.

The different companies that are carrying this project
The hypothetical hotel-casino at Coney Island that we are talking about in today’s news is being carried by gaming and hotel operators Saratoga Casino Holdings and Global Gaming Solutions associated with entertainment company Legends and developer Thor Equities Group.
The Saratoga Casino Holdings group operates, among other things, the most successful racino in upstate New York. It also operates in Colorado and Mississippi with a total of over 16,250 square feet of gaming space.
The Chickasaw Nation is behind the Global Gaming Solutions group. It operates over 25,000 slot machines, 2,000 hotel rooms and 30 restaurants. The company’s portfolio includes the world’s largest gaming facility, the WinStar World Casino and Resort, which welcomes 9 million visitors a year.
