A new multiplayer game is in the pipeline from Insomniac Games (Spider-Man 2, Wolverine). A title for the PS5 which now reveals important information about its content.
As we know, in addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine, the Insomniac Games studio, which obtained its title of nobility thanks to an essential decision by Sony at the time when Marvel was looking for a buyer for its franchises, is hard at work on another PS5 exclusive title.
The Californian studio had indeed teased a new multiplayer game last April in a job offer. At the time, it was believed that the game could draw just as much from the catalog of the Maison des Idées, as from that of Sony, which wanted to bring back certain IPs. Resistance, in particular, the latter having received a small big-up from Insomniacs two days before the publication of the job offer (in addition to belonging to the studio).
Insomniac reiterates today as a new job posting has been posted. While looking for its artistic director, the game in question announces itself as from a “brand new franchise”. Bad news for those who were hoping to see Resistance again on the PS5 but good news for the many players who were waiting for the studio on a back to original creation after several years of big licenses via Marvel and Ratchet & Clank.
