Freshly made official for this year, Overwatch 2 is already showing us its upcoming free content. The pace will be high.
We must believe that Blizzard is determined to install Overwatch 2 in the competitive shooter landscape since a roadmap spread out until 2023 has already been published. And as crazy as it may be, in 3 months, Overwatch 2 could receive almost as much content as the first game in its entire life.
Overwatch 2 intends to expand at high speed
Overwatch 2 will be released on October 4, 2022 in early access on PS5, Xbox Series, PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Until then, the software will offer no less than 3 new heroes, 6 new cards, more than 30 skins, a brand new Battle Pass and new game modes.
Two months later, Blizzard also plans to release new heroes, maps, and more. In 2023, the title’s follow-up should have a high cadencewith a new hero every two seasons and new regular free content. The PvE mode will also arrive next year.
More than was the case with the first Overwatch of the name, Blizzard really wants to support and bring Overwatch 2 to life so that it can keep pace with the rather stiff competition in the sector. The eSports scene will also be modified and will benefit from improvements and more resources.
So things are looking pretty good for Overwatch 2.between its availability in free-to-play, the striking power of Blizzard and a shy but already well-established eSports scene, the shooter has every chance of squatting the competitive landscape for many years.
