According to a rumor too unfounded for the moment, Sony studios have recovered a Konami franchise and a game should be announced for this year.
It is a rumor for which we are struggling for the moment to have a serious confirmation. According to the account VGLeakswhich recently opened but has quickly gained followers after reporting that his previous prominent account was banned from Twitter for copyright infringement, “PlayStation has acquired a very popular IP from Konami”.
Still according to this anonymous source, this license is linked to the game he had announced in a previous leak: “a very popular franchise returning in the 4th quarter of 2022”. Again, no confirmation is possible and the credibility of this account remains to be proven. That said, this echoes a previous statement by the producer of GetsuFumaDen, Shin Murato, with JPGames in 2021.
According to him, Konami was looking to outsource many franchises and could team up with big studios for that. Not to mention acquisition, one of the PlayStation studios could therefore be entrusted with a famous Japanese franchise. Of course, the first title that comes to mind is silent Hilla license intimately linked to the console and whose last episode dates from PT trailer in 2014.
As a reminder, Konami seems to have completely abandoned its projects on Silent Hilleven to the point of forgetting to pay for the domain name, bought by a quidam.
