The rumors circulating around Red Dead Redemption 2 and its new gen version are not very reassuring. However, it seems that there may still be some hope.
A leaker known to have already communicated information about games stamped Rockstar has just recently claimed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not concerned with a version for new gen consoles. And, fearing that he is mistaken about these words, he wanted to clarify the matter by speaking again to another user Twitter (Ben), who took care of relaying the information.
Not totally abandoned
As said before, dealing with Red Dead Redemption 2 is not the studio’s priority. And, as proof, Red Dead Online is completely abandoned. This is because the company’s attention is, as you know, focused on GTA 6.
Nevertheless, according to Tez2 (the informant in question), there is still hope to see a new gen version appear. His sources would not have indeed claimed a total abandonment of such a project. However, we’ll have to wait a while longer, until GTA 6 can finally free up all the arms it seems to need. And, this big piece being, apparently, expected before the end of fiscal year 2024so there is very little chance of theArthur Morgan’s adventures to land on PS5 and Xbox Series before this window.
And again, since the release window for GTA is not yet definitive, Red Dead Redemption 2 may even have a much longer time before it goes the way of Sony and Microsoft’s latest ones.
