If Rockstar would have abandoned its plans for remasters of some titles, it seems that it would also have taken measures against the new gen versions of Red Dead Redemption 2.
A week ago, the user Zez2Zez2, apparently specialized in GTA leaks, has reported some rumors about remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption. These would have been visibly planned by Rockstar before being cancelled in favor of the next GTA 6. Is it true or not? Probably. In any case, this has been corroborated by Kotaku. As for Rockstar, he did not know directly expressed on the matter. Nevertheless, a few days later, he sent a message to express his willingness to give everything on the next GTA and that he was redirecting the resources allocated to Red Dead Online in this new production.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will not know the new gen, really?
And now it’s Red Dead Redemption 2’s turn to make news. And, apparently, the American studio also had a project for him. That of bringing it to the PS5 and Xbox Series. However, if we believe the elements shared today – by sources that are certainly unofficial -, this would be absolutely no longer news. And, we can easily imagine the main reason: GTA VI.
Now, it just remains to be seen whether such plans had been foreseen and thus were indeed cancelled. But, if this is really the case, perhaps it is not definitive and that one day, these new gen versions will resurface.
In case this is confirmed, how will you take this lack of new gen versions for the latest Red Dead?
