Netflix has shared the first promotional posters for its Resident Evil live-action series, with a flashy aesthetic to say the least.
We no longer count the number of projects around Resident Evil at the moment. Between video games, movies and anime, there is also a mini-series for Netflix soberly baptized “Resident Evil” and which has just obtained a release date on the SVOD platform: the July 14, 2022.
In this new live-action production, the protagonist (main enemy of Resident Evil 5 in particular) Albert Wesker, will be played by Lance Reddick (John Wick). The story will revolve around the Wesker girls, in 2036, and the secret ties between the father and the Umbrella Corporation. To tease the release, Netflix has ditched black for a bright chick yellow paired with the saga’s iconic, bloody red.
Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker struggles to survive in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected and demented creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling ties to the Umbrella Corporation but most importantly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
It’s strange, it’s more reminiscent of Better Call Saul, but it catches the eye. A trailer should follow soon, for this series produced by Andrew Dabbthe origin of the series supernatural.
