Sony Computer Entertainment has renewed the Knack name to the trademark body in Japan. The last time was in 2017 for the release of the second installment of this series of action games.

Overnight, the Trademark Movement Observation Account at Japan’s Official Register of Filings discovered a new recording from Sony Interactive Entertainment. This title, recorded at the beginning of March and just published in the catalog, concerns Knack.

If, as is often the case, the renewal of a trademark can simply be linked to an administrative detail in order to secure paternity rights for a new deadline, Knack’s return to the news could also be a track for a third installment in the franchise.

Known as Knack Adventure in Asia, Knack is an action/platform game produced by the late Japan Studio and Mark Cerny on PS4 in 2013, followed by Knack II in 2017. Despite good critical reviews, the series did not necessarily meet the sales expectations placed on it.

According to rumours, Team Asobi (which is more or less the new Japan Studio) has a big project in the pipeline since the middle of last year. Fans who have been clamoring for Knack III for years are hoping for an announcement soon.
