Excerpts from the famous game Star Wars 1313, canceled by Disney, were recently discovered in the book of an animator.
The number 1313 will always evoke something for the star wars fans. Launched in 2009 and led by LucasArts, Star Wars 1313 was a game based on the story of a young, inexperienced bounty hunter in the meanders and shallows of Coruscant, level 1313. But after production decisions, a casting change took place and the players would have embodied the most famous bounty hunter: Boba Fett. What more could a Star Wars fan ask for?
This sweet scenario was close to coming true, but that was without counting the buyout of LucasArts in 2012 and the studio’s closure the following year. While this third-person shooter seemed to be very promising and had made great noise during its presentation at E3 2012, disney, without anyone understanding why, decided to cancel the project.
And it is logical that each information, news or extract concerning this game, can put in a state of trance the fans of the first hour.
It is in this state that we check out this new video from The Vault, compiling over 3 minutes of gameplay footage from Star Wars 1313. This excerpt depicts a chase between Boba Fett and its target on the roofs of Coruscan.
Star Wars 1313 is one of the biggest “and if” of the history of video games and fans of Star Wars. Even if Kathleen Kennedy president of Lucasfilm, implied, during an interview with slashfilm in 2015, that the Star Wars concept art was carefully kept because you never know, it could be used in other projects.
Let’s just hope that Star Wars 1313 did not engender in spite of himself, The Book of Boba Fett…
