During its financial presentation, Embracer revealed that Star Wars KOTOR will have to be reworked from scratch to make it an exceptional AAA. For this, Aspyr will be helped by Saber Interactive.

Made official at the end of 2021 during a PlayStation Showcase, the KOTOR remake took the opportunity to confirm that the Aspyr studio was indeed on the project, under the leadership of Lucasfilm Games. But the subsidiary of bulimic giant Embracer will not be alone. Associated with the group’s financial statement, an online conference was held and Embracer had a quick note for this return of Knights of the Old Republic:

Aspyr has gone all out to make this the best game they can make. When we acquired Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would need our help. Saber has enormous expertise in creating these types of products. We’ve done it on Halo – on several Halo products – we’ve done it on other titles that we’ve remastered on other platforms. We’re fully confident the game will be fantastic, but it’s a huge, huge product, and huge products take a lot of effort and time to be good. And especially when it comes to an already old – very old – game we practically had to redo it from scratch.

Saber Interactive will therefore lend a hand to Aspyr for the remake of one of the best games under the Star Wars franchise. The chart of upcoming releases also indicates that the game will be fine. available on PC and PS5 in digital and physical version, but still no date announced. New information will be revealed in “the next few months”, adds the CEO of Sabern, Matthew Karch.
