Season 4 of Stranger Things has just ended and now we will have to wait for the conclusion which will come in a fifth and final season whose release window has been revealed.
We will have to be patient, since the ultimate season will arrive on Netflix only in 2024. Additional details were revealed by the actor David Harbour, interpreter of good old Jim Hopper, during an interview for the magazine GQ:
I think we’re going to shoot next year. They’re finishing writing it this year and they need to get ready, so I hope it’s this year. But I think that’s the plan. So it will probably come out in mid-2024, based on our track record.
So a wait that will be shorter than the one for the fourth season whose shooting had unfortunately suffered the torments of the pandemic.
A promising season 5?
That being said, this final season will undoubtedly have ambitions as great as the last one released to date. Remember that each episode has benefited from a budget of over 30 million dollars. Thus, we can easily imagine that such a sum will also be paid for the long-awaited conclusion of the series.
However, this finale will not mark the end of the Stranger Things universe. Indeed, if you didn’t know, Netflix is interested in a spin-off project with the Duffer brothers still at the helm. The latter have confirmed that they have an idea in mind, but they are waiting to finish season 5 to get started. In any case, the showrunners promise something very different. To be continued.
