Announced last April, the sequel to Tales from the Borderlands has finally revealed some first images via an explosive trailer.
What better way to make a grand introduction than at the Gamescom opening ceremony? After all, we are talking about the successor of a series that started eight years ago. But then, what does Gearbox have in store for this sequel?
Any surprises in store? Not really
Earlier this month, information about the game was leaked via Amazon. This first trailer confirmed everything that had been seen. Thus, the software is indeed called New Tales from the Borderlands and it is indeed scheduled for October 21, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series and Nintendo Switch.
As for the story, it features three new characters (sane, as we’re used to with Borderlands) preparing for battle against Tediore, a manufacturer of equipment and weaponry. Just like with its elder brother, we are dealing with a narrative game with multiple choices and whose consequences can be more or less serious on the course of the adventure. However, it is important to note that the inscription “This character will remember your decision” will no longer be part of the game.
Indeed, James Lopez, a producer at Gearbox, explained that it was closer to realitywhere not all of your choices will necessarily affect the people around you. While this information may seem trivial to some, those who are used to Telltale games will potentially be a bit more “disconcerted”.
