Only one was needed from the list as every year the Game of the Year is much discussed: the Game Awards thus elected It Takes Two. Forza Horizon 5 and Kena: Bridge of Spirits were also well received.
In addition to the dozens of games revealed or unveiled during the Game Awards 2021 (which you can find in full in our complete file), the ceremony was obviously also the occasion to award various prizes in several categories, including GOTY, the game of the year.
As a reminder, the vote was taken by a panel of a hundred journalists from around the world, weighted at 10% by the public vote, except of course for the Player’s Choice, who elected Halo Infinite yesterday.
At the end of the event, It Takes Two thus received the ultimate distinction of GOTY 2021. The game was well placed with 6 nominations, as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart who got nothing. The most named game (9), Deathloop, leaves for its part with the prize for best narrative direction and best artistic direction. It Takes Two also won the award for best family game and best multiplayer.
We also note a big presence of the game Forza Horizon 5, with the Best Audio, Best Sports Game Price, and Accessibility Price, quite logically. Finally, Kena obtains the two prizes for the indie scene.
