The Devil in Me, the next title in The Dark Pictures anthology, has clarified its release window in a new trailer with a Saw-like feel.

After taking a short break from season one of The Dark Pictures to go create The Quarry, Supermassive Games will finally return to conclude the anthology with The Devil in Me. As far as communication is concerned, this fourth opus has been rather discreet until now. But fortunately, a new trailer came to remedy that, with in bonus the revelation of a rather intriguing collector’s edition.

Welcome to your worst nightmare

We now know much more about the history of this game. This latest will follow the adventures of a television crew invited to a hotel that serves as a reconstruction of the castle of H. H. Holmes, a famous serial killer. An opportunity not to be missed for Charlie Loonit, the head of the show whose ratings are not up to scratch. However, things are not going to go as planned and our friends find themselves locked up in the huge building. They must then flee, but many deadly traps await them on the way.

As usual for the games of the studio, it will be possible to play The Devil in Me alone or with friends. Who knows, maybe this will increase your chances of survival?

An atypical collector’s edition

The festivities will start next fall, but that’s not all, since the studio has also unveiled its famous Animatronic Collector. This edition includes an animatronic bust of 11 centimeters, a map of the island where the hotel is located, a postcard and its envelope and finally, a business card of the TV station Loonis Entertainment. You should also know that pre-order the game will give you access to the Curator’s Cut, which reserves its share of new scenes with new choices and consequences.

Finally, let’s remember that The Devil in Me does not mark the end of The Dark Pictures license. It only serves as a conclusion to the first season, even if we don’t know anything about the next one yet, except for the titles filed by Bandai Namco.
